International Roma LGBTQ+ platform

In 2015, ARA ART organized the first-ever international Romani LGBTQ+ conference, which resulted in the adoption of the Prague Declaration. The conference was attended by people from across Europe and beyond. This declaration became the main basis for the creation of the international platform.
The Prague Declaration is a document that articulates the key issues, problems and needs of the Roma LGBTQ+ minority. ARA ART initiated and became a founding member of the Roma LGBTQ+ Platform - a loose international association of individuals and organisations dedicated to the Roma LGBTQ+ minority.
The Platform responds to and reflects the needs of Roma LGBTQ+ people. It takes its expertise to the European level and seeks to implement it directly into European Union policy. It is also dedicated to building support structures and networks, monitoring the rights of the Roma LGBTQ+ minority and fighting discrimination against them at national and European level. Last but not least, it provides a space for sharing information and good practices.
